Murray to Moyne

The Murray to Moyne is a cycle event like no other.

Cycling in 30km sections in two relay teams over a 520km course, the team experiences the beauty of the Victorian countryside, cycling through rolling hills, enjoying night riding and the dedicated help of a fabulous support team over the entire weekend. Held annually in April, the relay course goes from Echuca to Port Fairy.

Every year, for the past 22 years, the Children’s Cancer Foundation has entered a team to raise money for childhood cancer research. The 2018 ‘Cytotoxic Cyclists’ team consisted of 20 cyclists and 10 support crew, including staff, patients and families and their friends from The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.

The 2019 Murray to Moyne will take place from Friday, 5 to Sunday, 7 April.

Itinerary:

  • Friday, 5 April – Depart Melbourne in the late afternoon to arrive in Echuca for a night's rest and team BBQ and briefing.
  • Saturday, 6 April – Set off early morning, riding 30km relay sections to Hamilton (total distance of 418km, but optional number of relay sections for each cyclist).
  • Sunday, 7 April – Ride Hamilton to Port Fairy (approx. 102km), prize giving and celebration, take a dip in the ocean and then rest your legs as we drive back to Melbourne.
