With thanks to our generous donors, over the past year, the Children’s Cancer Foundation has been able to invest in scholarships for paediatric cancer nurses in Australia and New Zealand to undertake the Essential Research Skills for Clinical Nurses course.
The Children’s Cancer Foundation partnered with the VCCC Alliance, which developed the course, to increase the educational and research training support available to nurses, for nurses to be able to lead research initiatives.
Since launching in September of last year, 52 paediatric nurse scholarships have been distributed and of those who have completed the course, 93% of nurses have indicated that they felt better equipped to be involved in research – an incredible result!
“I feel more much more familiar with the language and terminology commonly used in research. Access to these modules will be so very helpful as a resource to look back on. I feel I will be using it a lot.” – Nurse comments on completing the course.
The Essential Research Skills for Clinical Nurses is available on the VCCC Alliance’s dedicated online learning resource, the Centre for Cancer Education here.
