What we do

The Children’s Cancer Foundation raises and invests funds to develop new and better cancer treatments and support for children and their families.

The Foundation supports game-changing cancer research projects that aim to eliminate children’s cancer while ensuring children in our hospitals have access to the best possible and latest proven treatments.

We fund clinical research and trials, clinical care and provide family support.

While research is mostly our focus, we know that it is the little things that can significantly help a child, and their family, on their cancer journey.

With the unwavering support of generous individuals and organisations, the Children’s Cancer Foundation continues to operate as a leader in the childhood cancer charity sector.

Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium

The Children’s Cancer Foundation created the Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium (VPCC) in 2021, bringing together leading researchers, academic and clinical organisations to make things better for children and adolescents with cancer.

Project Funding

The Children’s Cancer Foundation together with its partners has funded 16 projects in the 2022/2023 year including salaries for hospital and research staff, laboratory consumables and family resources. Collectively, the Foundation’s impact on project funding is $4,053,000.

Clinical Care

Since 1992 we have funded the salaries of medical consultants, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, play therapists, art therapists, music therapists, psychologists, mental health clinicians, neuropsychologists, and many more to ensure the best possible outcome for children with cancer.

Family Support

In addition to funding world class research, the Children’s Cancer Foundation continues to provide a wide range of practical supports and resources to assist families in navigating their unique challenges.

Help children survive and thrive.
